Had my exhaust sleeved but no where near loud enough. I want new cats but sports cats so it still gets Mot pass as it should have cats. If money was no object what would you get? I could get one made but don't really want to mess about with that.

Loud is fun until you start doing journeys in i, then it's just a pain. I prefer the sound and tone of the rumble rather then the volume

I know what you mean and it depends what you use it for. Mine is always used for blasts of 40 miles or so on fast twisty roads. Never go on long trips in it.

This ^^^^
I think I’d go for pre cats out main cat in or similar coupled to your standard exhaust fitted with Cherry bombs or indeed the ACT sports system is the best professional option I do believe.

If money is no option take it to an exhaust making specialist who makes exhausts for racing cars.
An exhaust tuner in essence who could probably add something to yours rather than the standard box.
A local place to me used to make them totally bespoke but sadly no longer frown
If your going the hole hog you need the early style or ( ACT -Clive’s manifolds ) stainless manifolds as they offer better flow and theoretically more noise through the tail pipes.

I’m like the post above though, tone is much better than volume and done well sounds just as good imho

I have the ACT manifolds with the sports cats and cherry bomb system and I love it, not ridiculously loud with a deeper and more aggressive note than the standard set up. As a bonus under bonnet heat has been dramatically reduced as well.

Mine runs a standard sleeved exhaust with Pre Cats removed. Plenty loud enough and bearable on long journeys.

How do you remove the precats?

Had mine removed for me years ago by Offord’s when I lived in Cambridgeshire. A quick search on the forum should give you an idea. Keeps under bonnet temps down a bit as well.

I successfully removed my pre cats with a long screw driver / chisel as one was loose anyway.
I removed them with manifolds off the car.

Removing precats (or changing headers) and changing cat to free-flowing sports cat will probably make you existing set up appreciably louder - might be an idea to do that first, and see where you are regarding volume, rather than try to do it all at once.

I have the above, combined with sleeved exhaust, and it's LOUD...
