CLASSICLINE Good Service - NOT!
Discussion
I am NOT amused!! Followers of the Independant Insurance saga will recall my gleeful message about how lucky I had been as Classicline had not sent my premium to Independant and would therefore be able to use it to pay for an alternative policy at no extra cost.
Well, the last laugh is on you guys - the idiots at Classicline have now sent the whole lot to Independant when Price Waterhouse called in all outstanding debts. Now I effectively had 5 weeks of cover from Independant before cancelling the policy so can understand being asked to cough up for that period, but there is no way that I should be expected to pay the whole years premium in retrospect having cancelled the policy, and then wait to have some of it refunded in the future - maybe! Clearly Classicline should only have asked me for the sum required to pay for the 5 weeks cover. Not only that but I only found out when I was sent an invoice for the cost of the new policy, without prior consultation or even a letter of explanation!
I will be writing to Classicline this week on the off chance that they might value my (and hopefully a few other pistonheads'' custom in future) but if the Bulls**t I was given over the phone on Saturday is typical of their level of service and attitude, even if they are the cheapest I will take my business elsewhere in future and recommend that you do too! Decent service is worth a few quid in my book and I will report back on their response. Thank goodness I was not paying Griff/Chimp premium levels....
I will also be interested to hear what Manning''s response to this situation is??
Dear Brm Brm - I've being trying to get a refund from Ian Fray AKA Classicline for the past two months! I cancelled one month before Idependent went Tits up! They even told me (on two occassions)that they had the refund back from Independent! Well I'm still waiting and the office manager who had been handling it all told me on Friday that she was leaving the company that day - so I'm back to square 1!
Thats the same mob as my brokers under a different name(Ian Fray?). Phone number is different but fax and address the same. The advice (on independant and other things) has been as much help as a sandpaper toilet roll. Looking to Mannings to take out cover shortly as they put the effort to answer questions here. Also Independant help line still list my old TVR wich was changed in April as insured not my new one (second hand) although IF and Co say they will write an Independant cover note for it!! Who is covering who or are they related, I think we should be told. If anyone from Ian Fray should look in here I am changing brokers cos you have been as much help as a brick wall across the M4, Reading 08:00.
