Something Missing.
Discussion
From the attached photo it would appear I'm missing a part from between the ignition barrel trim and the column shroud.on the Griff'.
Probably from a Cavalier, anybody got one they wish to part with or is it a go search the breakers yard when they open again.
I've searched the web but not sure what to call it.

Well I've got one on my 92 precat. A large soft rubber steped grommet which fits over the key barrel and sits snug into the cowling to fill the gap.
I have a spare set of shrouds but just looked and no spare barrel trim I'm afraid. If you have that missing then I bet you have the front cowl screw covers missing as well, you can just see one in picture. Sorry for the pic quality but my car is under a cover in a dark garage.

Crikey that clutch pedal is set up high! I have a spare set of shrouds but just looked and no spare barrel trim I'm afraid. The push in screw covers are both there,
I had the cowl off recently when I had the facia out dunno why I didn't notice the large rubber washer was missing.
There should be a gasket then, I'll keep searching now I know what it looks like and when the breakers are open pay them a visit. The same cowl was fitted to the Opel Senator I understand.
And I bet there was one in the box of bits still to be fitted to the unfinished Chim' I sold.
Might be worth contacting some Cavalier/Senator peeps on PH.
Cheers everyone, stay safe.

Try giving Autovaux a call. They've been really good at getting stuff for older Vauxhalls and they're a lot cheaper than a dealer.I had the cowl off recently when I had the facia out dunno why I didn't notice the large rubber washer was missing.

The other bit I’m missing is the black plastic cowling from the seat reclining mechanism, what Vauxhall’s is that form?
Not Vauxhall, try Fiat X19 post last year

In one of those photos of missing neoprene part and perhaps both photos it looks like the neoprene part is there, it may have been pushed into the cowl along the lock barrel
Well spotted. If you click on the pics it takes you to Thumbsnap and then click again it enlarges the photo a lot. Worth a closer look?Gassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
