Waterless car wash and TVR

I have a waterless car wash service at my local Tesco where they spray your car with a cleaner and wipe the dirt off etc. Anybody has a view whether this does any harm to a TVR paint job?

It's highly likely to completely ruin your paint job. The cleaning fluid will mix with the dirt to make an abrasive paste which will very easily scratch the soft paint on a Griff. It's much softer than on metal cars because it can't be baked or something.

At least test it on a small area first (like I did thankfully).

This sounds a bit like the 'detailing cleaner' that Meguiars do. Basically an oil that lifts the dirt, and a very absorbant towel that 'wicks' the oil away from the surface and takes the dirt with it. Excellent for fine surface dirt, no good at all for heavy dirt & mud etc. And of course the towel has to be immaculately clean in the first place othrewise you just grind the old dirt into the paintwork.

Would I trust a supermarket bod to get this right?
