I have a tuscan who i used to take to a well known tvr specialist, i will be honest i always had some items which were 'recommended' to replace.......even though they had been done on the last service 1000 miles or so prior.... the bills were quite strong.....

I haven't used the car for about 2/3 years and am about to get it back on the road and ideally would like somewhere in essex for ease of use. The car had a tvr power rebuild which is very good! I would take it to dom but its a bit of a trek.

I have seen one in colchester called python which appear ok and cant find anything bad about them so that's a good start. I will call dom in the new year to see if he recommends anyone to work on his engines.

Bespoke on the edge of Essex. Or was that the one you used ?

Lots of recommendations for Python on the Facebook page.. I'll be trying them for my 12k service in a few weeks.. They seem close to a station that takes me home too, so potentially easier to drop the car off at.

Interested to know which specialist you were using so I can avoid them lol

I used bespoke with my old cerby, not sure if Graham is still around? I've moved a little further out now so the journey there and back is stretched.

I'm in Essex and take mine to Mat Smith Sports cars in Norfolk, he's very well respected in the Tvr community and he will give you a courtesy car to get home.

Had my Sag for a couple of years now and taken it to Python for two MOT’s, some electrical work and a recent service. Jody knows his stuff and so far I cannot fault them. Always quite a few cars there and well worth just popping down there on a Saturday morning for a chat.

PR Wood in Westcliffe gets my vote. Phil’s work is spot on and well priced.

I'm also in Essex and had the same conundrum, I sent mine in to Castle in Bishops Stortford and the first service was great- couldn't have been happier. When I took it in the second time the brakes and throttle both seemed to have lost their edge from being settled with and a couple of issues weren't sorted. They also took it upon themselves to write a couple of detrimental notes on the advisory list which could have been mentioned to me whilst it was in instead.

I didn't service the car last year as it had very little use so would like to try someone else, ideally closer to Colchester so will be watching this thread to see how you get on if you choose Python.
