Now that Chims are hitting the 25 year rule for import to the USA, they are a tempting proposition for someone looking for a characterful car to wheel without getting the speeding tickets of something with modern power and NVH. Especially as so many of the mechanicals are old Range Rover.

However, were many made in LHD for Europe? And is there a huge difference in price between UKDM and EUDM?

There were some made, but not very many at all, I'd hazard a guess at less than 100??? (anyone know for sure?)

Here is a European website that lists TVR's, but you have to double check the photos for LHD as some RHD have been exported to mainland Europe. From what I have seen, there is a premium of around $10,000 extra for the LHD variants.

If you are searching for a LHD Chim you should check the German market (see also www.mobile.de). Here are most if the LHD TVRs. However, as said there is a premium on these cars with prices between 35-40 T€.

No...but being in a LHD market, it would have been preferable. Not at the markup mentioned above though!

LHD TVR´s are extremely expensive compared to the RHD derivatives....and not many LHD available.

this said...the majority of LHD cars are in much better condition than the typical RHD(UK) car.

owners-mindset of care and maintenance, also the quality of work from the garages in those countries is completely different (better)

so its your choice now.

So why does a well known Tvr service centre in the midlands service and repair many Tvr with EU plates.

Can you name a few of these expert garages you talk of so others can gain something useful from your comments.
