Couple of Cerbera / Tuscan queries
Discussion
A Cerbera or Tuscan is on my consideration list for purchasexearly next year
Will want use reasonably regularly, maybe 4-5k miles a year
With a budget of 25-28k am I going to get a decent car?
Is an engine that's been specialist rebuilt likely to be more durable than when it left the factory - hlgutvfeeling is that it will be but some guidance would be greatly appreciated

You will get a good car for that money yes.. Will want use reasonably regularly, maybe 4-5k miles a year

With the SP6, if it is an early one I would only buy a rebuilt one, unless it was cheap enough.. The AJP's tend to be more hardy.. Early engines tend to head towards a top end rebuild as miles go on with valve stretch, however later lumps had better valves which don't tend to stretch, so better.

I think you will getb a really good car for that budget, i hate to say it but i think tuscan prices are on there way down. Shmoo have got a nice red tuscan at the moment. Looks a nice spec.
I think you’re right! There was a bit of a buzz and firming up of prices around the reveal of the new car, but that has slowly died a death and prices have softened.

Looking at current prices i reckon my car has lost 5k in value since this time last year, not that its an issue as i'm not selling it and i brought it at there lowest value.
I reckon Tuscans could be the new performance car bargain
I have been looking at possible prices for my Tuscan after recent woes and really surprised to see prices down a good £5k over last year. There are some decent looking cars around for just north of £20k.
Engine rebuild obviously a normal criteria on early cars but my 2004 Mk 1 is still going perfectly strong at factory original build with 60k on it.

Seems like 25-28k will get me a good example which is good to know
Certainly in Cerbera land that’ll leave you with a good bit of change if you don’t get too excited by a highly polished one being punted by a chancer too quickly. Unless you talk to most other Cerbera owners who’ll tell you you need £40k plus.Ooooh hard one.
I bought a cerb.
Then was happy.
Then sold it.
Then was sad.
Then bought a Tuscan.
Then was happy.

Then bought a Cerbera.
Then was finally content.
I like both. They are quite different beasts.
I think Cerberas are a more special car than the Tuscan. The tuscans look insane though.
Truly a 1st world problem this. A happy problem to have.
But get a cerb, they're more gangster.

I think a Tuscan is probably better suited to me - have a GT car in the BMW 650i and after owning a 340bhp V8 Westfield until last year I feel that the Tuscan is going to provide some of the same driving excitement with an added dose of practicality about it
Get one brought, you will love itAndy665 said:

Best advice.. Drive both and decide. The Cerb does GT, but it also does go-kart. Don't start thinking it is another cruiser! Unless you want a drop top.. In which case the Cerb doesn't do that
