Chim & Cerb at Historics Auction
Discussion
Noticed there's an interesting Chimaera from Japan and a Cerbera for auction on 13th July at the Historics at Brooklands auction:

Just in case anyone was looking for one.

That's the second tine the Chimaera 'Clubman' from Japan has gone through. It was in the March auction:

They've not even bothered to do fresh photos.

I presume its the Cerbera considered undervalued, because the Chimaera 'Clubman' got nowhere close to £17k back in March so that's why it's being put through again. It's a firm that has quite a few imports, somewhere in Virginia Waters apparently.
The peeled lower dash has probably not been rectified either:
Previous thread contributor thought little of the roll over bar!

The sarcasm isn't necessary. But then of course you liked it last time when commenting on it back in February so at least you're consistent.
Firstly, it's an auction, so the fact it's completely 'emptor caveat' usually reduces the price (not always, I've seen auction fever and people getting carried away but usually on E-types or Porsches). If it's so good, why does it need to be stuck through an auction? And a little bit of effort on the lower dashboard and some fresh photographs would should the seller cares, which they obviously don't.
Then the fact it is a Japanese market model re-imported. Back when it was listed in March, I give you comments from those more expert than I:
phazed:
"I saw this at the sellers warehouse in Virginia Waters last week. I was looking at something else and this was parked up.
Just a standard 400 with the export differences as expected. Nice enough but will want the usual work to get it back on the road and fingers crossed regarding rubber seals and any other perishables."
900T-R:
"Surely one wouldn't want to drive it on the road with that fkn rollover bar (factory option AFAIK) right next to one's head, anyway. Whoever at TVR thought that was a good idea needs shooting IMO."
There are plenty of Chimaeras that ARE worth plenty, I was tempted by that turbo one at over £20k. I've considered re-investing in a 500 again and frequently kick myself for selling a 6 yr old one back in 2001.
This a forum with different views and I think it's way overvalued, for an auction.
The Cerbera on the other hand, that will probably fetch the guide of £11k easily unless it's rotten underneath.

Well. neither the Cerbera or the Chimaera sold. The Chimaera is back on ebay for £19,990:

'Rockits' was there at the auction and said the Cerbera didn't start or sound too good, so at least they are driven through. At a lot of classic auctions the cars are static only, so they can't be started!
