This one just popped up on my searches:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Anyone's on here selling? Or anyone know anything about this one?

The colour is not everyone's cup of tea but I like it and it would compliment my 4200 that is Grigio Nuvolari very well wink

I like the colour and interior combo.

Description very light. 4.4 engine suggests a rebuild and enlargement of some sort.

Price seems 'cheap'.

I'd be wary of it being a scam.

Agreed. Wasn't aware of a road going Challenge model but Wiki mentions one. Never seen one for sale before though.

As you say 4.4 suggests a rebuild which is not necessarily a bad thing but depends on spec also who did it.

I have dropped the seller a message with a few q's so will see what comes back.

Shown as SORN and MOT ran out April. A minor point as the ad says mileage 30,250 but 2018 MOT mileage was 30,436. Perhaps the seller just guessed?
£20k is a very nice round figure though so be careful.

Thanks. Agreed the MOT and mileage figure is odd. As you say he could have guessed but that could be a worry as can mean a seller not prepared to do the legwork so could suggest other things may not have been done. Maybe not.

Or it could have been advertised for sale before and he hasn't updated the mileage. However I have not seen it before and am always on the lookout.

He has had it for 3 years and only selling as needs the space and cash. Also only doing 300 miles in the last year it is not getting used which is not uncommon.

Really like the colour.

Really don't like the '8 cylinder 4.4 16 valves'. and lack of more photos. Either a really lazy seller or a scam.

Either way allow for a rebuild/retrim of the drivers seat at least. The only "challenge" with this is going to be the work.

Well seems they are a PH member or at least have used PH also to advertise it which is encouraging.

Yep, it's a pity that someone selling such a desirable car is not very forthcoming about it really. As for grammar and spelling I'll leave you to make your own mind up teacher

"TVR Tuscan for Sale, low milage, sort after clasic colour combination."

Hmmmm....... scratchchin

Neither the AT or PH ads are that enticing but sometimes worth looking through this. Often though a lazy ad, grammar, spelling and detail can often mean lazy owner which any TVR will never appreciate.

I think the AT 4.4 and challenge bit is wrong. Looks like a standard 4.0 to me. Done an HPI check and it shows 8 previous owners so the seller is the 9th. The AT ad details 7 previous owners.

If sellers spent a tiny bit more time and care in ads it really does help IMHO.

Just sold my XC90 in less than two weeks and spent a fair bit of time making sure the ad was as good I thought I could get it:

I'm less fussed about a CAT D on a TVR than other cars. Must be a much higher percentage of TVR's been CAT D rather than any other marque?

As long as the price is right of course. Sometimes it can be a good thing if only cosemtic damage and the car got a full respray of new paint.

Give him a break he’s a car dealer for God’s sake. He might like displaying his cars in a certain order hehe

Looks like prices have softened a bit to be fair.

I replied to this pistonheads ad, before I saw this thread, asking for more info. I'm interested in it as a project car,. bUt have heard nothing yet from the seller.
Would be a risk to buy it without a current MOT.

Whilst I don’t disagree with you in all your say, sadly the price needs to reflect the cat status to allow for the same on resale. I actually owned a cat d repaired TVR in the past and would argue that it was better built than by Blackpool and had no problems at all; but the fact is the market will always dictate it’s not worth as much as a “straight” car imo.

spoke to the seller who seemed very genuine and responded appropriately!! (ie I'm ringing about the ad, etc) seems to be a nice car, in the colour combo I'd like, would like to see it put through an MOT first though. no air-con, which might be an issue for some.

I was going to look to view this one next week but don't want to tread on your toes or compete if you are interested. Are you going to view and have a look at it?

I agree it seems a little odd to advertise a car for sale with no MOT. Can't see who would buy a car with no MOT unless it was an MOT failure with a known issue priced in.
