Hi all,

I wonder if anyone has any tips on what to use to bring a shine to corroded (aluminium?) side window 'quarterlight' struts on the Griff and Chim?

Mine look like only an angle grinder would get them back to as-new condition. Which is a shame as I've got the rest of the car looking pretty spiffy.

Any tips appreciated!

Fine stainless steel wire wool with autosol.
Then a fine scourer with autosol.
Then autosol with a cloth.

Lots of elbow grease.

Do Halfords sell that elbow grease of which you speak?

Sorry, old joke.

After reading a few reviews on metal polishing, I got a tube of Peek. Effective on my engine bay alloy parts too. There are many others on the market now though.

It does a good job, slightly more effective than Autosol in my opinion, a product I had used for years.

I've bought a tube as it bears the crest of the royal household. If She uses it, it must be good.

Little 800 wet and dry paper. Autosol. Buffing wheel and a bit of elbow grease not a bad result

Autosol works but I find it dulls quite quickly. I've had real success with the polishing wheels, such as these
