How to fit reverse light switch harness M1400
Discussion
You don't say which car this is for.
Anyway, you will need to be underneath to fit the gearbox end then judging from the length of the loom the other end will terminate under a centre console. It is possible the connection to the loom is in the tunnel so best to get under and follow the wire first.
In the picture are 2 bare pins. To fit these to the old connector body you will first have to remove the old pins which is not easy. If you look at the pin on the right in the photo you can see 2 barbs sticking out. These retain the pin in the connector body. To remove a pin both of these barbs have to be closed flat to the pin using a tool which is basically a tube that goes over the end of the pin. It can be done using small electrical screwdrivers but the whole process gets a bit brutal as they do not like coming out.

PS are you sure it is the loom you need to change?

Thanks Steve, it's for a Cerb
Unfortunately the reverse wiring and plug melted while on the rollers
I was hoping it might be possible to attach the replacement to the main loom from above, and then just attach the plug to the switch from underneath
But it seems unlikely that is possible
