Just wanted to wish all the team at the High Peak Nomads all the best for the 25th. Possibly the best TVR run out of the year. Last year was a record turnout of 117. If you have not been on this run don't miss it this year. Here are some past photos and a video.....and if anyone has a spare TVR for me to borrow on the day that would be great.....haha, come on Les a red Sag or the new Griff

And a past video

It is a great one-day event for those wanting to "drive" their TVR...and last year was even sunny....

With just over a month to go until 25th May and everything going to plan (so far!) here is a reminder and taster for the event.

The High Peak Region of the TVR Car Club are once again hosting the very popular "Thrills in the Hills" Peak District TVR scenic run.
In May 2018 we had a record turnout of 116 TVRs of all types from all over the country: eg Devon, Hampshire, Essex, the North East etc. as well as mainland Europe - Belgium & Holland - a truly International event! This year we are going one better with a car being shipped over from USA!

The run takes us through some of the best of the Peak District scenery and on some of the best driving roads. We have blasts across the moors, winding twisting country roads, scenic towns and villages, re-group points and turn points (great for videoing all the cars) and amazing Peak District scenery along the way.

Part of our afternoon run takes us on the A515, the 1950s Proposed Parsley Hay road race circuit for the Peak District. Imagine Jaguar D-types, Ferrari Monzas, Aston Martin DBR1s and 300S Maseratis fighting it out over a fast, narrow road circuit looping over high hills. A circuit almost as long as the old Nürburgring, with every sort of corner and hazard from stone walls and off-camber curves to a narrow bridge under a railway. A circuit in England, on the Queen's Highway. What might have been... Some of this is part of our "Thrills in the Hills" run.

If you arrive early ( from 9:00am ) at the start meet point, http://www.hassopstation.co.uk/ can have breakfast before leaving and we have a planned lunch stop at http://www.theknightstable.co.uk/ . The finish location is the stunning http://www.monsalhead.com/ with its fantastic views. A great TVR day out not to be missed.

START HASSOP STATION CAFE DE451NW meeting from anytime 9am onwards, START EXACTLY 10:30am.

http://www.visitpeakdistrict.com/accommodation/

Full details and maps will be available on the day. You can also follow us on the forums and "HIGH PEAK NOMADS TVR CAR CLUB" page on FACEBOOK. You will also find the event details there. There is a small entry fee and choices of catering at lunch and final parking at Monsall Head.
We have also managed to reserve a limited number of spaces for camping at the popular Barn Farm Campsite, Birchover, nr.Matlock, DE45 2BL. Payment on arrival. They have excellent facilities, but will be very busy this weekend, so if you want to book a pitch, please contact the High Peak DRO, Glen Robinson, so we can keep track of numbers.

Many thanks, we hope you can join us for this epic event!
Richard Walton.

So disappointing that this is the day after the TVR club track day at Cadwell Park.

Probably a bit much to do both! :smile

...no!...Cadwell is "on the way" to the Peek district, so it makes an early weekend of both wink

We completed a successful recce run yesterday, a couple of minor tweaks are needed to account for road closures, but everything is in place now with just one week to go before the Thrills in the Hills run.
.
We are getting all excited now!

See you all at Hassop Station Cafe where your entry pack with route map & sticker, and buffet lunch vouchers will be on sale.
Breakfast rolls will be available from the Cafe

Please make sure your TVR is also fuelled ready for the start before you arrive.

Don't miss this fantastic event!
Thanks to Glen for this one...

I will be there (as long as I don’t break it on the TVRCC track day the previous day). I am doing both events, so there are only 60 or so owners in the entire U.K. who can make the same excuse for not being there.

Come on guys, a lot of work goes into organising these runs, so turn up and enjoy the sights and sounds of like minded people having fun with you.
Thanks QBee

Like QBee, I am also at Cadwell on the Friday but fully intend doing the Thrills on the Saturday with many others from my local group. It is one of the best annual TVR events and I would be so disappointed if I couldn't attend. It is also one of the few events that would appeal to our car disinterested partners too.

It's not often you get to see and hear circa 100 TVRs on the road.
Thanks TR4man
( and updated cheers, hopefully all future posts for this years great event on here )

Looking forward to seeing so many cars in one place.

Is it necessary to book for lunch? What are the alternatives?

You can pay for lunch on the day, there is no need to book...

Just chewing this one over.

Do you think I could leave my motorhome and trailer in the café carpark during the day as I would be coming over from the Cadwell Park track day.

Bucket list event.

Im sure it could be arranged with your negotiating skills Peter. The scenery makes this look like a great event. Glorious pictures and all the noise, brilliant.

Phazed. You could park on my driveway and follow me to Hassop if it helps. I live in Whitwell near Worksop. 5 miles from junction 30 of the M1. Hassop is an hour drive away through Chesterfield.

Hi, I am sure it would be no problem to leave it there during the event. Although it is a pay and display carpark in some areas, other areas are free. The only small problem maybe finding space with an estimated 110 TVR,s in there and the usual local walkers and tourists. There is a big overflow field car park across the road, there would be lots of room in there. It maybe just worth giving Hassop a ring to see what time they open the overflow carpark in the field.
