If anyone has any archive photographs or history or information or anything at all on Peter Wheelers White Elephant I would very much like to hear about it..

Building up a history of the old girl is proving quite difficult and any help at all would be very much appreciated.

Does anyone actually have a picture of Peter Wheeler with the car?
Cheers

Cant help Im afraid - but I just wanted to tell you what a fantastic looking car you have there.

Hope it all goes well - cant wait to see it in the flesh & on the road where it belongs

I can recal seeing the car in the flesh during a factory visit many years ago, just parked up in the yard. I can remember sitting in one of the first production ready Griffith's (and getting stuck because i couldn't find the handle) so this must have been 92 ish.

I took at least one photo of the 'elephant' at the time because it looked fantastic, but after several house moves etc, i will need to do some serious digging to find it. If i find it, i will send it on.

IIRC there was one or two pics of it in Sprint a few years back; can't recall whether PW was in them though...

Many thanks - about halfway there now.. the splash moulds should be finished by the end of this month.

For the moment we now have a gel-coated 'Red Elephant'! (pics will be in Sprint in Augusts issue)

Fantastic! I don't care if it's five to eleven at night and you've got to be up for work early tomorrow morning..

Get up in that loft right now!!!

Hi Ian - sadly not.. and I've spent hours trawling through the back issues.. :needtogetoutmore:

So if anyone has got any old Nelly pics, or indeed any 'PW with Elephant' photos - they really would be quite a find..

Surely there must be some somewhere?!...

I had heard - that PW had a cutout for his gun (12 bore) and that that rear hatchback area - was Ned's kennel area..

Did you find much fur in the bad ..

Neds bed is there - and so is the 'secret' (well not now you've told everyone Alan!! ) shotgun compartment..

Just really do need a picture of PW with the car - or indeed a picture of PW with Ned & shotguns and the car!

Someone must have one somewhere..

Help!

Was the main photo taken at Brands Hatch ? I recall seeing the car at a round of the Tuscan Challenge in a kind of marquee with other examples of the marque lined up and the main car park stuffed with Tivs. I may have some photos of 'nelly' taken at that time if you want them.

That would be fantastic! Thank you.

Peter Wheeler used Nelly to drive himself to and from Tuscan race meetings... when he wasn't driving it to and from grouse shooting days.

If you do come across any pictures - or even just the odd one please email me & I'll give you my home details.

Cheers
