Fuel, Unleader or SUper?
Discussion
Admittedly my car is pre-cat, but the TVR Centre advised me I could burn virtually anything I could get in the tank. During the petrol "crisis" I ran on single-malt scotch, as it was easier to get and only slightly more expensive than petrol.
But seriously... if you have a cat I think you have to stick with unleaded, and my understanding (though I'm no expert) is that you need super-unleaded. If you want to run permanently on 95RON you need the timing retarded, though I think the newer AJP engines can run on either.
P.S. Don't quote me... check with your local dealer.
yeah it's all timing - Steve at Thames Valley checked mine after I bought it & ut had already been retarded a touch. If it isn't you'll suffer pinking under heavy loads (ie all the time). Interestingly I reckon super unleaded gives much better mpg than plain unleaded anyway - has anyone else spotted this?
