Any pics of the T5 linkage??
Discussion
Hi Guys
I have recently managed to bend the linkage on the T5 box in my Grif. I understand from Phazed I can remove the linkage with the box in situ but I have never had the box out so I don't know how/where it all fits together. Has anyone any pictures of the linkage or some tips on how I may get it off??
Cheers

You can see the rose joint on top of the bell housing. This has the rod that the gear shift sliding rod slides over.
Remove the gear change lever and pull out the sliding rod attached to it.
You can see the male part, the inner rod that is attached to the rose joint.
You need a spanner in each hand up each side of the bell housing to release the rod, 13mm iirc, remove end nut and pull out rod.
The rod is a plain SS rod with a threaded end, one nut screwed onto the thread, the threaded bit goes through the rose joint and a lock nut screwed on the end of the threaded rod.
It really is easy by feel.
Check out the 2nd photo in the thread.

Job done, but I could never have got out the two nylon bushes on the linkage from below. They were hard enough getting off after I had removed the interior trim above the transmission tunnel.
Replaced the threaded bar onto the rose joint, greased it all up and back together and now the gearshift is as sweet as.
Advice to anyone doing this for the first time - come at it from above!!
