Essex engine no starting T2

I have a 3.0 essex engine starting with engine number starting T2 then five numbers. Also six C,s have been stamped next to it in two rows of three. I have read another conversation with someone els having the same problem a few years ago he also had the engine number starting T2and the other five numbers but the six letters stamped near the engine number on his were all B,s again in two rows of three. I actually think the engine I have as had the original number removed before this was done but to see he had the same perhaps points to some engine builders. Can anyone shed any light on this or help in anyway
