Bike Racks

No doubt a frequently asked question, but does anybody know of a manufacturer of bike racks for TVRs in particular Chim's. Can a Halfords version (or similar) be modified to suit? Cheers

Surely one of those wierd ones where the bikes hang off the boot/hatchback would fit - the top hooks on to the 'top' of the boot etc. I've never seen one on a TVR though! Can't you rent bikes at your destination instead?

A few notes of caution with bike racks & TVRs - I had a folding Thule rack that I used a few times on my Chimp. 1 - for some reason (probably aerodynamics) the rack is prone to moving around a lot and can scratch the paintwork. 2 - there aren't many anchoring points (my rack required 6 points - 2 top, 2 bottom, 2 side) especially under the car. Take a good look at the car & any rack before you buy. 3 - If you have a pre-95 Chimp, the boot hinges are not that strong & have a tendency to snap (They've been redesigned twice as far as I'm aware). The load placed by a bike rack probably does 'em no good...
