Anyone buying Optimax recently may have picked up their pack of Top Trumps cards with the chance of winning a 50K car off the forecourt at the Birmingham Motor Show.

In my first pack was the Speed 12.

What caught my eye was the fuel consumption figure for the 800bhp, 0-60 in 3 secs, 240mph+ top speed moster. It reckons you get 18 to the gallon.

Well it made me laugh Who thinks up this data?!

You obviously missed the decimanl point. It should read 1.8mpg.

Got the same pack. The MG TF160 data reckons its a 2.1 litre engine.
D'ya think the claims for Optimax are as accurate?

I managed to get the Tuscan S and Speed 12 in the same pack.

At the rate I get through Optimax I'm highly confident of being able to collect the full set ...

Any idea what the rare card is yet? I fill up with optimax every single day (pesky fireblade) so you lot may as well not bother playing

anyone want to start a swap site? I've got a Speed 12, Celica T-Sport, Skoda Superb & Octavia and an MGTF all spare (so far - only been collecting since weekend)

I got 2 Corollas in 1 pack. Not fair! (I don't think they warrant being included - they're a rubbish drive)

Also got the Tuscan S and Speed 12, so it's not all bad. At my rate of consumption, I'm sure I'll have the lot by the end of the month.

i've got my eyes on a Tuscan S - should just about be able to get it with a decent paint job for the £50k....

I have a Total and a BP points card: the Total one lets you cash the points in for either Sparks & Mencer or Boots gift vouchers.
Huh, you say, fat lot of good they are. Well, Boots are part of the same group as Halfords.... so I get free car parts, engine oil... ;-)
The BP one gives me Argos points. Haven't found any use whatsoever for Argos in my entire life, but I'm sure someone will be happy to take the card off me in a few months, let's say, Xmas? There's almost 20 quid on it already. Between the company van and the TVR, I must pay a few politicians salaries from the fuel duty!

Does that mean the points my wife builds up on her boots 'customer loyalty' card and currently buys all manner of useless smelly sh*te with can be spent in Halfords?

It's been advertised for a while but I only got given my first set of cards yesterday despite filling up every day. Don't worry though, within a week or two everyone will have the same 17 cards several times over

Dunno! Suppose it would be worth asking..... I'm glad it's not just the women in my life that buy an overabundance of unnecessary and probably ozone-depleting, carcinogenic, throat-rasping, eye-watering, bad-smelling TAT. Far better to turn her loyalty points into Castrol GTX, I'd have said!

:-D

Women can't understand how appealing they'd be with just a dab of SAE 90

Hmmm

Or for the younger lady, maybe some Castrol-R

Perhaps some ladies can help us out on this - preferably without throwing a massive fit... I, as a bloke, have lovely skin, it has been commented on many a time, it's soft and a nice colour. My hair is on top of my head which is more or less all I ask of it. I use shampoo and, when forced to, soap... which costs me about 50p a month. The ladies tend to spend absolutely sh*t loads of this gunk that appears to do absolutely nothing... why persist with it? A decent drug habit would be cheaper.

Sadly I think you'll find the bit of the brain that guides the foot straight to your nads to be fully functioning

Ah, hair.... my girlfriend has gorgeous blonde hair. Well, it's blonde when she gets back from the hairdressers... ;-) Anyway, she's naturally curly, and I like it that way (WOOF!). So what does she do? Spends f***ing HOURS with an assortment of gadgets to get it dry and pull it STRAIGHT.
Me? I get out of the shower, rub my head with a towel and hey presto, dry hair. In the winter it may need a little encouragement from the 2.4kW fan heater thoughtfully installed by the previous owner, just outside the shower. As for styling, if I wake up in the morning and there's a parting, so be it. If not, I'll take the Richard Gere look, thanks.
