Im trying to sell my Westfield so I can buy my much wanted TVR. Cardata are calling me asking for £80 to add my car to their database. Would anyone recommend them car??? Do they do as they say they will?

Believe Cardata featured on Watchdog a few weeks ago - not favourably. I advertised in Autotrader last year and Cardata drove me mad with frequent phone calls, they even left messages on my answerphone. Eventutally I had to speak to the superviser to get them to stop. Steve

I'm one of the poor suckers who have used them to sell my Tuscan. So far they have produced nothing, not a single call - not even a courtesy call from them for failing so badly over a 4 month period. My advice - steer well clear. MP (C4RO P)

I also have my car for sale with cardata for about 4 months, no calls from prospective buyers, no courtesy calls, nothing!! But then I've also had my car with Autotrader, Exchange and Mart, the Eastern Daily Press (local newspaper), www.carchase.co.uk, www.4car.co.uk, pistonheads advert section, various other www sites and nothing!! I am now at the stage where I am dropping my price by between £200 and £500 per week just to try and get a sale. If anyone knows of a sure fire way to sell a car, please let me know. While my Volvo remains unsold, my 5 Ltr TVR Chimaera remains safely locked up in my garage, unable to be driven (can't afford to insure a Gp 15 and Gp 20 car at the same time!!) and its driving me mad!!

Bunch of cowboys..........With regard to insurance, try Manning. They quoted me £1500, 1 yrs no claims, 28yrs old for 4 litre chimp. Not bad. Let me know if you want the number as dont have it on me at present but you can also find it on pistonheads in the gassing area....Cheers folks.

I tried them a couple of years ago when I needed to sell my Chim to appease the tax man. I got no response whatsoever, and the 2nd hand market was still fairly bouyant then.
