cruise control?
Discussion
i'm setting myself up for a potential slating by asking this, but has anyone looked into a retro fitting of a cruise control system on a tiv?
reason being that i've been banned from speeding once, and when i lose concentration for a while, i find it quite easy to catch myself in the high nineties+. insurance is silly enough as it is, and i don't think i'd be let off with only a 2 week ban next time.
Ahhh....funny you should mention that. When I bought my TVR I spoke to the dealer about it as I had similar thoughts. I figured that as - on mine - the stalks were from a Vauxhall it shouldn't be too difficult, the dealer said they had never done it but guess it probably could be.
I wasn't brave enough to enquire about cost though!!
i was hoping there may be an option to do it without putting a stalk in. maybe a simple system which only has an activate button (possibly wired into dashboard light switch), and cancelled by pressing the accelerator/ brake. no need to be able to resume a previous speed, or anything like that.
I'd be kinda interested if anyone gets any info about cruise (control, not Tom.)
I recall from years past that some of the sadder car add-on catalogues included bolt on cruise control systems, so something similar ought to be possible.
Just as long as the controls are in aluminium
And if someone can tell me where to find 6th gear, that'd be nice too!
