Difference in dealer pricing.....

I am looking at Chimps in the £25K region. My local dealer is Hawthorns in Farnham (Surrey) and they have and 400, R reg with 25k for £25Kish. Yet if I look at Team Central in Birmingham they have similar cars priced at £20K!! Any ideas as to why there is such a massive difference??? It is not just one model it seems that all of the Chimps are priced on that same basis!!! Your comments are much appreciated as I am wondering if it is a good idea to buy one from a dealership so far away.

Did you know Team central have gone bust! Also, I went to their open day with the regional club chaps. At the end of the day, they jumped in the cars, revved the nuts of em while they were cold, one had a nasty blue tinge in the exhaust fumes. I dont think they worried much about how they treated their cars. My advice is to stay well clear. This has nothing to do with my chim being up for sale btw

Take a look at a couple of the specialists i.e Adrian Blyth, David Gerald, Steve Reid etc. These guys are usually much more competative than main dealers (sometimes more than private), you can get a warranty and you get a more personal service.. My opinion of course Cheers Dan

Rob, Looks v nice indeed....Live in Fleet in Hampshire. Cant afford pay that cash as need to get finance iwth a balloon at then end as also have loan to pay on existing car!! Wont be going to birmingham then!! Where are you?? You trading up to a cerbera/Tuscan??

Hi, I posted this on another thread, but Alliance and Leicester (http://www.allianceandleicester.co.uk/../loans/pl-cpp-calc.asp) will do a loan with a ballon payment. I have one at the moment. Just make sure you do not want to pay off early, as the interest on the defered payment makes it expensive. The rate is also good compared to most dealers

Tuscans is out my price range i think. Cerbie was the plan, but now the sun has come out..... There's something about taking the roof off that makes me happy I'm in stourbridge. About 20 miles from team central. I'd second Dans recomendation for david gerald. I've had no probs with them so far. Youd have some change from your 25k too http://www.davidgeraldtvr.freeserve.co.uk/
