Yep, big improvement. But..... it don't look £36,000 worth. I know its got 360BHP but the overall package is more akin to the sub £30 k competition. If it really costs this much to build - it must largely be due to the engine development/production cost - why didn't they use an existing unit to minimise this and get a sub £30K, show stealing, order book busting, sensation.
Sorry to be negative as the car really is visually good from most angles.
quote:I'm struggling to think of any sub-£40K car with that sort of power, let alone sub £30K. This car is going to sell. Amazing what losing the girly chrome and shiny wheels has done for its appearance. Nice one PW Edited by PetrolTed on Friday 27th April 00:41

Sure, it will be extremely quick, but what I meant is that it just doesn't "look" like a 36K car. I haven't seen one in the GRP, but from the pictures it just doesn't seem to have the presence of any of the recent TVRs - including the Griff it's meant to be replacing. I thought the original idea of the Tamora, was to give TVR a more entry level offering. The styling of the car would have been perfect in this respect and with more emphasis on affordability and slightly less on BHP it would have been a more needed addition to the range - IMHO !!
Much better and a nice looking car, my points would be
1. Front is nice and a hint of griff meets elise inn there if you look at it with a griff and elise piccy next to it (try it, you'll see)
2.Roof is much better than Tuscan's and TVR are best sticking to this formula imho.
3.Side view is lovely, bit griff meets elise again (go on, get the pics out again and look)
4. rear is still a bit dodgy. What is it with the rear design that TVR seem to have a probloem with? The Tuscan S and the Tomato both have ugly rears, are they letting the YTS design boy do them?
5. Dash and interior are lovely. Better than Tuscan's imho
6. Tamora S with 4.0 Speed six dry sumped will do me please, no stupid spoilers and other max power meets 70-s Capri stuff though.
7. Price is a bit heavy when comparing to competition, if TVR want to be the best VFM in class then I think they should lower the price. Maybe use a 2.5 V6 or something and strip it out a bit for an entry sub 30k? a 28k TVR would get people in the marque away from the Z3,SLK,Boxster,VX220,Elise and once captured they'd move up the range.
Well done TVR for finally listening to your customers and coming up with another potential winner, now about my sub 30k 5 litre cerbera GT2 I asked about...
