Alfie Boe, the factory years.
Discussion
Picked up his autobiography and had a quick scan in Tesco to see if he mentions Bristol Ave. Few stories from his time there, mention of Kevin, Gerbil. Abdul ,Absey, Cabbage, limper Jeff and Mike Penny, little of great note to say about his first real girlfriend from the TVR office either, ouch!
Alfie Boe signed the BNG Auctioned CD as 'The Old Matt Blacker', (no it wasn't me who won the bid). Steve Guest (West Midlands TVRCC R.O.) also had his car used in a photo shoot with Alfie and was told that his car was made around the time Alfie worked at the factory so could possibly have had the inner wheel arches painted by him.

Bob, you should have been at the BNG. His CD, personally signed by himself, was one of the auction items on Saturday evening. Made good money as well.
Perhaps the winner will make himself know now that he has sobered up
O'Hara won the bid for it and donated it to my Daughter.Perhaps the winner will make himself know now that he has sobered up
Cheers. BB.

Forgive my ignorance, But what is the connection between AB and TVR? thanks
At the age of 17, Boe became an apprentice mechanic at the TVR factory in Bispham, Blackpool.[4] He enjoyed entertaining his colleagues by singing opera arias while he polished the cars, and one day was overheard by a client with connections in the music industry who was so impressed, he suggested Boe should go to London and audition for the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company. His audition was a success and he gave up polishing cars to embark on a singing career.[4] Boe has never been able to trace the customer who suggested he go for the audition, having lost the man's business card.[5dhf said:

Blimey! I saw him in concert a month ago, Was a very good show.
he went to Cardinal Allen High School fleetwood, is that mentioned in his book? He was a year older than me, he sung at school to, but not much, fear of getting called a sissy probably. when he earns even more wonga maybe he will return the favour that the bristol Ave factory did for him and get production going again, or is this a pipe dream Daggsy said:
