£15k TVR What to buy ?

Hi all,

Been away for a bit . Had 3 chim's in the past (1 of each engine size ) . Just sold my Boxster 3.4s nice car not enough character! Now looking to buy a Tvr again ! Considering Chim , Griff , Tuscan or Tamora . What should I buy ?

A 4.5 cerbera would be the first choice...then a t350 to keep her company.When my numbers come up a t 350 will be next to the cerb

Obviously a bit Griff bias, but if you have already had 3 chims then i would go for a speedsix car just to scratch the itch! two totally differant drives! i would try and find one with an engine re-build and the usual tvr gremlins already sorted, all goes back to budget. Was in exactly your position 2 years ago. Bought a lovely 03 plate Tamora. Admittedly have spent a little on her since then :-0, the only thing I'd swap for is a Sag, but you are talking 3 times the £. Go and drive a Griff and a Tam, very different but one will stand out, both great cars. The Tam just felt a bit sharper to me. Some people don't like the styling but make sure you see one in the fibreglass before you make up your mind, Tam's don't photograph well for some reason.

Quality is fine. Mine has a rebuild too, with 100' mile warranty. A little bit Bit more than £15k

Been around TVR's for a number of years , but never driven a Tuscan or a Tamora , not easy these days to turn up and try , everyone far to suspicious even when turning up in a expensive 1st car ! Do Fancy a spped 6 experience but could do with having a go in a am and Tuscan to be sure !

If you want an S6 without a roof, the Tam is the way to go from a driving perspective. Looks are in the eye of the beholder!

I had a fair few TVR's, recently replaced the Cerb with a Chim, but my favorite is still my Tuscan, £15k should be enough for a reasonable car.

Everyday car is an A7 . If a tam is an S6 without a roof not for me ! Want an experience and something that will scare me from time to time !

The Speed 6 is very different from a V8, low down it feels a bit tame, 3500 rpm plus it is awesome.

I have been looking at 997 C2s as an everyday car. Today I drove the Tusc and the 997 on the same route. Tusc was faster and much more dramatic with more powerful brakes. 997 had just had the edge on handling.

997 was like a fast company car, very good but sort of soulless. If I did fewer miles each year the Tusc would be my daily driver, but I do too many miles (it would need servicing too often) and 997 is 20k serving intervals.
