Hi all,
I am looking to use the Eurotunnel for the first time in a Chimaera, and last time I used Eurotunnel in my "normal" car it I saw that the Ferrari in front of me was asked to load further down the train, which I guess was down to the Ferrari ground clearance. Do the loaders just use common sense and put sports cars on the lower level of the carriage ?
Sorry if it's a really basic question, but it is sort of worrying me and I'd like to have an idea of what to expect
Thanks
Barrie

Been three times, once with the S and twice with the Griff, on each occasion always booked the return trip marked 'with top box / or taking cycles' - funny I know, but that way you automatically get put on the single deck carriages and therefore never had a problem with ground clearance. For some this run was done five times annual with a convoy of lambos, fezzas and tivs. As said always helpful both sides and never a problem. Hope this helps!

As the previous folk have said.
My last experience was November 26th(ish) - The Tunnel guys see a low car and direct you to the loading door. Approach at an angle - you need to anyway, and then you drive through the 'train' until you're told to stop. I've never once been asked to go on the top deck....and all my tunnel crossings have been with a Tiv - first the Chim and latterly with the Tuscan. I've only had one occaision when I signalled "down" out of the window, and the chap gave me a knowing nod and a smile.

Another confirmation of the Tunnel not being a problem at all. And I thought I would also add another point which impressed me - lots!
Last summer, with the Chimaera on the Tunnel, I discovered I had a puncture whilst on the train. I was asking Eurotunnel for an air pump, they didn't have one. But they arranged for a tyre man to be waiting on the platform as the train pulled in! They also helpfully explained to me that I was only a carriage from the front of the train, so not far to limp.
Everyone was brilliant
