Recently moved to the Tonbridge area from London. Would be interested in any recommendations / thoughts on garages / workshops in the area for reliable TVR servicing.

Also, any recommendations for body shops - car needs a bit of work on chips and scratches to get it back to its full glory.

I used to live in Tonbridge, now Paddock Wood. I use Dan Taylor of Taylor TVR who is good. I've also used Austec who are also good, but it is a real fag going to Crawley and I always get lost there.

I can recommend Dan Taylor as well - his workshop's in Aylesford so probably closer to you than Austec (whom I would also recommend). I've used them both many times over recent years for both road and race cars. Both Dan & Paul are good guys. biggrin

Hi mate I'm in hildenborough so am pretty close to Tonbridge. Have blue black colour Tuscan. Although I do my own work if I was going to use someone local it would be Taylor.

In terms of bodyshops I have used Motorcare in Tunbridge Wells not on the Tuscan though. There colour match and finish was very good. Their the local appointed Merc and BMW body shop.

Like everyone it would appear, I would really recommend taking a visit to Dan & Colin at Taylor TVR at Aylesford, Maidstone. I got good advice from them before plunging for my first TVR ('07 Tuscan) & they have done a range of work for me over the last 12 months including valve clearances, fixing my power steering & hardwiring a Ctek charger to the main 100A wiring underneath the passenger carpet (where it should be fitted idea). They will take a real genuine interest in your car & they are very contentious with the work they have done for me thumbup. After a visit there, (even its for a chat & look around) you will be convinced yes. I live near Luton & would never take my car anywhere else!

Sussex TVR in Horam isn't too bad from Tonbridge, I've used John there since I got my car and he's been spot on.

Dan Taylor for me too, as you can see most of the locals find him to be very reliablebiggrin

There's an excellent bodyshop very close to Dans place, I cant remember their name but he will be able to point you in their direction.

Taylor TVR for me too. Thoroughly reccomend these guys. I live in Essex and while I have 2 other TVR specialists closer I would rather take my car to Taylor.

Crikey, quite a number of TVRs in the Tonbridge area. I've only ever met a blue chimera locally and there is somebody who owns a red bull blue Tuscan who cathes the train from Paddock Wood. Oh and a silver chim I sometimes see going to/from Tonbridge station.

Hi Jason,

You're an every day user then? Did you previously own the light blue Lotus Eclat?

I'm south of Maidstone (Headcorn) and take mine to str8six which is off junc 6 on the M40..mainly because I bought my car from Jason and I have had nothing but good service / insight from them and I am a pain in the neck..
I have see quite a few Tiv's in this area but have not met up as yet..
