I am considering buying a TVR for the first time. Only criteria I have in terms of purchase are: price range is GBP 12,000-18,000, 2 seats, no more than 12 years old, and it should have a removable roof (Targa or Cabrio). Which models would you recommend considering ? Thanks.

Which engine does the Griffin have ? I have heard that the Speed Six can be unreliable. Thanks.

Chimaera or Griffith........the best one you can find for your money. It should always be condition, condition, condition........as long as it's blue !

June "Sprint" (TVRCC mag) has a lengthy guide to the Chimera, useful to a potential buyer I would think

your budget rules out anything with a speed 6 that hasn't been accident damaged so don't worry about it.

i vote chimaera

If it will be an everyday driver, go for the Griff, its a beautiful looking car! If you are looking for a weekend car or one to drive only when its dry, go for a V8S much more fun and more smiles per gallon! The V8S would be cheaper on Insurance and you would have money left over to spend on it to make it faster than most other Tivs.

As partial to the S as I am, Griff or Chim. My preferences would be: Griff, V8S, Chim.
