Trackday brake upgrade

After doing a few trackdays in my Chimaera I've come to the conclusion the standard brakes are not quite up to the job!
I'd like to know of anyone's experience with Mintex M1155, Ferodo DS2500, EBC redstuff ceramic, or any other road/race pads, and also what they're like on the road. May even go for the Tower View 283mm disc upgrade.

I fitted the 283 disc upgrade with Mintex 1155 pads(front+rear), goodridge hoses and Motul RB600 brake fluid and they are a big improvement over std. I've not used them on the track yet, but on the road they remain strong and reassuring even at silly speeds over the mountain section of the Isle of Man TT course.When used over the same sterch of road the previous std set up would start to struggle by Windy corner and be juddering and fadeing really badly approaching Creg-ne-ba,(not a place to run out of brakes).The only down side I've found is with the pads which are very dirty,quickly coating the wheels with dust, they can also be quite noisy, squealing loudly when worked hard.All in all money well spent but don't forget the hoses and fluid to get the best from whatever you fit and read all the posts as there is a wealth of information on this topic to be found in the old posts.

I used to use 1155s on my mr2, and then on my 300zx. I though they were ok.. a lot better than standard pads (which I set fire to on numerous occasions)... but as you say loads of dust.

Tried green stuff and was instantly hooked. Hardly any dust, great feel.. hardly any fading and don't need much warming up at all.

I did have a play with a set of red on the front of the 300 but I took em off.. they just weren't worth the hassle warming up, etc.

If you got to ebcs site they certainly used to have friction/temp graphs, etc.

Personally, unless you are never ever gonna use it on the road, stick with greens.
