Highest Mileage T350

A customer who I have known for a long time tracked me down to Mole Valley (which I and my business partner bought last year) yesterday with his T350 T. Now I know he does a lot of miles, but when I went out to have a look the mileage reads 168,000, yes 168,000 miles. the question is does anyone know another modern!! TVR with higher mileage?
There is a Cerb out there with 130k+ miles without a real rebuild* IIRC? Ph'er SimonSparrow
I think he has had his cam chain done/ possibly HG??
Our old Cerb was sold with 95k on it - now 97, still going strong, no rebuild of any sort.
Our new T350 is up to 26k so far...
Give us time to catch up.

I assume that is "Shorts!" who comes on the forum? I remember seeing his car at TITT last year and being surprised when I hear about the mileage afterwards. Be interested to know what has been done in that time (rebuilds etc) as the car looks great.Cascade copper T350T?

There was an article on his car in sprint recently. Within the last few months. Not had as much done outside servicing as you might think!
Yeah, that's mine. I guess that the OP has forgotten that I too am called Dominic and the famous Dom at TVR Power isn't the only one.
As Madbadger said, there was an article in Sprint a few months ago, but the jist is that I had a rebuild at 60k, not because the engine was blown but as I wanted to ensure I got many more miles out of it without destroying it. Dom at TVR Power offered me another rebuld (at a significantly reduced rate) at 100k after the previous one so, I think, he could check how his handiwork had stood up to so many miles. Following this he has now started offering what might seem like a ridiculous 100,000 mile warranty on some of his rebuilds so he was clearly happy that my engine wasn't at the end of it's life. I fully expect/hope to have the first quarter of a million mile modern TVR, though hopefully not for 4 or so years. I still have it serviced every 6,000 miles ( always by the guys at Bespoke in Ware who were previously at the TVR Centre in Barnet) and have replaced a few clutches, alternators and brake discs and one gearbox. But considering it has done the mileage it has it is still quite original, the only significant change being the Nitrons.
So 168,000 on Tues but I've done another 300 since then and after Cadwell on Monday I'll be past 169,000. So if you are at the TVRCC trackday at Cadwell come and take a look at what a big mileage TVR looks like. And goes like. And if the car and I are painfully slow on track I'll let you decide whether that's the car's fault or mine! A couple more trackdays this year and the usual driving will see me at 180,000 by some time in Jan I reckon.

Hmm, I had 2 rebuilds on my 2001 Tuscan. the first at about 11,000(!), chocolate finger followers or sImilar. A week or two later it went back for rebuild again. FINGER FOLLOWERS AGAIN! After the second rebuild it carried on for another 2 years and 40,000 miles before I sold it.

Not all re-builds are made equal!When I was looking I saw a car describd as having had a rebuild, but on closer investigation it meant 2 finger followers replaced! Not what I call a re-build!
Plus a few factory rebuilds seem to have had a pretty short life. Replacing chocolate parts with cheese parts is not a fix!
