HELP with best Bullett camera & Mic please

Hi all

I am shure this topic has been covered before, but to keep it as simple as possible, I am looking for the very best bullett action camera with superb picture and sound quality if possible. I would like to have the option of having 1-3 bullett cameras on different areas of the car including mics in various areas to highlight exhaust, engine sound etc.

In the past I have tried various digital cam corders and various bullett cameras and have been very dissapointed with the results.

I'm not looking for editing options and complex systems, simply plug in shoot and play. Wind noise was an issue last time and cracked lenses on bullett cameras.

Any advice from current owners and possible vids would be fantastic. I have looked at various products currently on offer but the vids are geared up for sales. Would very much like to view owner's own vids and honest opinions. Thinking of trying to get it all up and runnung and testes before the BIG TUNNELL RUNS!

I have one I use in my car which ive found to be very good, but can't remember the name of it. When I get the sag back, I'll email you the make and model. I've only used it a few times in the last year or so and can't remember what it is.

I have used the Muvi camera for a couple of years now, good quality, robust and cheap to buy.
There're are loads better I'm sure but for clipping to the exterior of your car car without fear of losing it or drowning it (I've tried!) it's an option.

an even cheaper version of the MUVI camera here , brought a couple and 8Gb micro sd cards last week so not had a chance to try them in anger yet, had a quick go with each one to make sure they worked and they seem ok. You can also get waterproof hard enclosures for them at same site but I think they will kill any sound recording.

Got one of those as well, quality just as good IMO only difference is the case is plastic and the Muvi is metal.

that will be why the big difference in price , but I would still put them in the waterproof case if using externally.( it's only a couple more pounds.

Just seen the cheaper one on amazon as well for a pound less than my first post....

not sure if these will be of use to original poster as will still be affected by wind noise if uncovered on the outside of vehicle or no sound if in enclosure.

This is something that I've been looking into recently.

I'm looking to fit a camera in a clear space beside the front number plate using a bracket. That's not the issue.

My issue is that to save running silly cables all over the shop I want one with a real remote to turn it on and off.

Any thoughts?

Thanks guys for all your help so far. Had a good look at all your recomendations, not shure how these little MUVI cameras will cope once stuck to the bodywork and have to deal with vibrations, wind noise etc, etc.

I am after a robust camera, ideally with built in mic that is as simple as plug and go, obviously assuming you buy all the various clamps suction pads etc, but to be able to withstand the reality of high speed action, wind noise, protector for lense that can be removed if damaged without the need of damaging original camera lense etc, etc.

I know I am probably asking for a lot, but I am shure there is a camera out there that fits all the above. Problem is who has one and can comment before I start spending loads of money, only to find the new toy sitting in the junk box after a week.

Come on gang, it will be worth us cracking down our best voted action camera ready for TiTT7.

Not to mention to have proof for the times when we take on the Ferrari, Lambo & Porsche boys, and give them a good hiding of course. Did I forget to mention the Aston V12 boys.

We can keep the Nissan GTR lads out of this one.

Have a look at the company site, which is USA, then google the camera in UK for best site to buy over here. This is the industry leader at the moment. Their stand at the recent IBC in Amsterdam had some fantastic footage.

Thanking you very much matey. The video of the Jap fella on the rally is amazing. The driving was amazing and then when you see the driver it,s even beter.

Chris, there was a thread on this subject last year sometime just before Xmas. I can't remember if it was in the TVR section or the Speed/Law section. It reviewed a number of types of camera and made some recommendations.

Can't remember the exact specifics though as I didn't post on it so haven't got a record of where the thread was.

I have being looking into this, to film the drifting I do, borrowed a muvi camera type one off a friend (would of been a cheapo) but the vibrations were to much but that could of been how I mounted it, for quality the best seems the go proHD. Loads of independent footage on youtube from track days to people surfing and base jumping etc. I think they do different versions too. I.e a motorsport set with suckers and brackets to mount to your car.

Maybe you could ask mr williams what was used to film this footage, very sturdy and crystal clear on the sound

I have seen some footage of video recorded by a go pro the quality of sound and vision is exceptional.

I had the pov when it first came out, I couldn't get on with it at all and in the end returned the product.

Latest one seems to be very capable but again it doesn't tick all my boxes.
