Tuscan Exhaust 98dB limit..options?

Car is a standard Tuscan 2S, still with cats,silencer boxes and std cans. Tested it myself at 100dB so I'm getting a set of sharknose cans from ACT this Saturday, which will hopefully bring the noise levels down well below 98dB (as i'm heading off to the Vmax event at Brunters the following week).

Just as a backup, in case the cans are borderline on the 98dB limit (especially as it seems different meters can give wildly different readings):
Has anyone ever fitted any dB killers or similar to a Tuscan exhaust? Or has anyone already had the ACT cans tested?

Mr Chips, I have a de-catted Mk1 Tuscan S which has passed the 98dB limit at Goodwood when fitted with the ACT track-day silencing cans. They are massive (wide diameter), but just as easy to fit as standard cans.

Just what I need - as I've not changed the cans myself - provided they aren't welded, how easy & long does this take?

more than 100db's as standard sounds a bit too loud. Are you absolutely sure your car is still catted? I am pretty sure its one I have seen a clip of doing a 1/4 run at an airfield recently, and it sounded decatted to me?? (extra raspyness compared to standard normally, especially when lifting off/changing gear?)

Good luck with the cans Dave, Tim is a bloody good bloke! I’m sure they’ll be quiet enough provided you’ve still got the cats in. As you know, mine were too quiet; they have been ¾ sleeved but still not loud enough for my liking, so they’re going to be fully sleeved.

Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes, provided the cans slip off easily. They can become quite well lodged but nothing a bit off WD40 and some muscle can't fix.

talking of noise, I have replacement cats and they are louder than standard so it is possible to have cats and sound more like decat. Probably cheap so not as good.
