Assuming this is an AJP V8, seems odd it should be in portugal and with no info on its history etc. Im also assuming its an engine from the le mans tuscans?

You have heard of a the Tuscan Challenge race series haven't you...? Its Melling's. If it's a new engine from around 2004/2005 then its probably worth the money, if its a show piece from one of the early castings thats been sitting in his office since the early 1990s then probably not worth it.

aha, assumed it was from a Tuscan challenge car but hadnt made the link to the other stuff being sold by the same guy. Guess its a gamble as to whether its one of the 'real' engines!

I've seen that engine and that's exactly what it is, it's been on a stand in his office for years so may not even have pistons in it.

Even i know a v8 needs at least 6 and a half pistons to run well.
I speak from experience.

Reply I got from the seller.

It is one of the original (and as I understand it only) batch of some 50+ engines made for the Tuscan series.

We have original parts to make up other new engines if demand is sufficient.
