I noticed on ebay that a guy was selling some tvr engines , when i checked the advert it said that they were being sold for a friend ALL MELLING !!!!.
So i thought it was only fair that i ask him if he is going to give me my £10 out of any sale he makes, i have had no reply'
now the adverts has had the for al melling removed !

I've heard he's up and doing something at Portimao where he's now based

I'll be out there with a (undersubscribed) tour to the Portuguese Historic Racing in October

If there's any news I'll post

I seem to recall that the original engine from MCD was a pile of st and had to be extensively worked on by John Ravenscroft until it was fit for use. In which case this would be better used as a coffee table..

Actually I think it can...! I seem to remember someone saying they were pretty much useless before Ravenscroft had his way with them..

Didn't the first one last about 15 minutes on TVR's dyno according to JR?

Putting this a little into context, remember PW and Al had fallen out and it was TVR who said the engine's were useless, just before they changed them significantly enough to not pay MCD any royalties....

The engines supplied were prototypes and as such not expected to be perfect, I believe that most new design engines require work before they run successfully what the case was here is unlikely to ever come out into the open

As someone has posted on here recently in any discussion there is 'your opinion, my opinion and the truth' so in this case I'd suggest there is 'TVR's opinion and Al's opinion with the truth lying somewhere inbetween'

Yeah that sounds about right.. Either way... If I was in the market for a reliable speed 6 engine for my TVR, I'd be looking elsewhere..

No, so justaccept that your £10 is long gone. If it bothers you that much you shouldn't have bought a ticket in the first place.

On the other hand half of fly's PH posts are about wanting his money back. Modern Britain?
