I have bought a replacement engine to get me on the road and dragstrip while i decide what to do and save to rebuild my forged piston nightmare.

It is a 4.6 that has very good compression from the rings.
It has a fresh cam that has been bedded in and only done about 300 miles.
It has just been rebuilt with fresh crank bearings.

So i guess i dont need a dedicated running in oil such as millers CRO because the rings and cam are already bedded in right?

I was thinking maybe Valvoline VR1 20/50 but would this be too thick for the fresh shells?

Thoughts before i fill it up and turn the key this Saturday please.

I would have thought that oil is perfectly fine. I am just running mine in and using a 20/50 mineral.
