Last week I took the Tuscan on holiday to the Lake District. While sat in the car in the Hawkshead I overheard two boys, about 10 or 11, discussing what the Tuscan was. They walked around the car offering opinions as to what it was. On seeing the Racing Green sticker in the rear window, with it's Jaguar and modern classics line, they announced to their parents that this was a Jaguar Tuscan. Their parents agreed.

Could have been worse I guess could have been a BMW Tuscan or Vw Tuscan
Years ago with the tasmin racer on a trailer in a petrol station, the guy next to me sparks up
Guy: nice car, I always fancied a tr7
me: erm its a tvr not a tr7
guy: yeah but its the same thing underneath
me:erm, what you mean it has 4 wheels
guy: no its the same car with a slightly differnt body.
me: erm not sure on that one, a tr7 is a steel monocoque with a 4 cylinder engine, this is a grp body spaceframe chassis, with a ford v6 engine, although it does have a rover sd1 steering column which is almost triumph..
guy: mmmmmph but its the same thing underneath
me???????

I don't like using the word "owned", but its a very apt turn of phrase on this occasion. Guy: nice car, I always fancied a tr7

Last night I was chatting to a guy I've met on and off for about a year who told me his friend was an ex-TVR designer. I'd already started the engine when he said this so hopped out (of the Tuscan) to learn more leaving the engine running. A gaggle of feral snotnoses wandered past.
Kids: "G'wan, rev it mister"
Me: "Nope. It's cold"
Kids: "Wot?"
Me: "The engine's cold. Revving is not good for it"
Feral: "My bruv does it all the time to his Saxo"

I've had all the 'What is it?' questions as well as 'It's a Rover/kit-car/too fast/Ferrari/Porsche' comments. One that made me smile was the guy who said he'd always wanted one but his wife wouldn't let him as her friend said they were too dangerous. "f
k her friend" I said. He smiled, winked and said "I have"
