I know we've done it before but can't find the thread. But heard this last week as we were sitting in a pub garden with the Chimaera in the car park...
Family gets out of a car, small toddler and a baby in arms.

Toddler: "Car Daddy"
Dad: "That's not a car"
Toddler: "It is a car Daddy"
Dad: "It's a TVR son, and if it wasn't for you two I could have one of those"

1. 'Right on' family crowded around my current Cerb in the carpark of B&Q. The dad was talking to his repressed children about how these cars are bad for the planet, was staring closely at the tax disc and was saying how the government is rightly going to tax these sort of cars off the road - "Look at the price of the tax on this car, its £200, uh for 12 months, oh"

2. Retired lady in Waitrose car park shaking her head at me..."That car is very very noisy". "thank you" I replied. "No! Your car is very noisy" she protests. "Thanks again" I replied with a big smile and a wink. (In fairness my 2nd cerb was far too loud really!).

3. Climbing out of Cerb in Waitrose Mother n toddler parking. Beep beep from a car - Mrs angry shouting abuse at me about the spaces being for people with kids. I dont look or give eye contact as I lean into the back and pull out the 1 yr old. Then turn holding child to see where the noise is coming from. Red faced embarassed lady driving off at speed.

Think I've mentioned this one before, but at one of the "Back Home" events when we were lined up on the prom just up from the North Pier some lads were looking at the nice interior of a Chimaera and one asked what the second gear knob was for.

His all knowing mate replied ......

"That's for the four wheel drive system".

Arriving on my driveway, giving it a short blip of the throttle to get over the curbs, accompanied with some inevitable pops and bangs (straight through all the way).

Neighbour from across comes running out, looking all bedazzled, and asks what's happening, then he notices I've got the Tuscan there.

"Bloody hell, it's your exhaust, I thought they were shooting..."

In fairness the op did say they couldn't find old thread. So the link was provided accordingly.

Returning to my car in Tesco car park, woman has just pulled in next to the Chim (97 R plate). She leaps out runs around and holds the door while child climbs out telling him to be careful as that car is worth more than our house.....

During a Gang on the green event at Wells I passed two old lady's who were looking at the parked TVRs in the high street, and one said to the other:

Not a quote as such, more a statement from my side:

Waiting in front of traffic lights, roof off, in the town centre of Brussels, close to some parked cars, a few meters away from friends' house. First time I visited them with the Tuscan.

Boy racer (with white cap and all) in a Fiat Punto 1.something stops next to me, music booming away. Window goes down, music goes quite, I can barely hear the engine revving, but see him waving at me to do the same.

I give him a "what's up" look, and he waves again, revving the engine again.

I blip the throttle and get a full serenade of 3 car alarms going off.

Boy racer dives into his seat, turns head into "fixed straight forward" position, closes window and puts music loud again...

Trafiic light goes green, I drive off, only to see my friends standing in the door greeting me with big smiles and a "We heard you coming, saw it all happen..."

My son once said "It's like the perfect kit car - it arrives fully built and slowly dismantle itself" !!
Ironically, he loves TVRs and is rather pleased I upgraded from a BMW325ci to a T350C, then Sag, rather than an M3 or Boxster/911
