Helmets and Decibel Meters

Hi All,

Just startin to get required stuff together for Track Days in the Sag, and fear I might have trouble with noise limits... What decibel meters does anybody use and are they accurate ??

And what helmet would you recommend (think I prefer open face style..)

I got a good open face helmet form Andy, aka Guillotine on here, have a look at the tvrmonster site in the shop.

Theres a free iPhone app called Decibels - can't imagine it's 100% accurate but will probably give you a rough idea. It's free anyway so you can't complain.

Presume I don't actually have to have race-suit, race-shoes, race gloves to start with for Track Days - just helmet and long sleeved shirt ?? Is that right ?

Clive - what did you use to measure DB of your various exhaust mods over the years?

no just long sleeved shirt ect, and a blue skirt, or even a blue one on some circuits

decibel meter came from the internet, can`t remember where its a while ago now, try ebay?
