So says this months edition of Evo page 110.
8 page article by John Barker on TVR Power and the latest happenings between Power and TVR.
Guess this is going to prompt much discussion, especially as Dom didn't bother to put on a tie for his pic biggrin

Finally got my copy of Evo.

Well done to TVR Power for getting such a comprehensive write up. :-)

So I think what was suggested is that TVR are unlikely to come up with any new cars in the foreseeable future but that Power are going to get the moulds etc for fixing existing cars and that Power are going to keep pushing TVR and keeping it alive (and maybe encourage a consortium to take on the building of new cars...?).

I think also that Power are offering to rebuild existing cars to new condition with rebuilt, upgraded (eg 4.5 supersport) or even LS3 engines.

Dom raised the concern that parts for S6's are going to run dry (or something like that) and so LS3 might become a regular thing from Power.

Evo loved the 4.5 although werent totally sold on the shocks set up but said the car felt 15% more powerful than normal.

Fab!

Really? Timescales? There will be a lot of very disappointed people if that's the case.....

As I say I cant recall the actual wording in the mag - something along the lines of 'arent enough parts to productionise the S6' - so I assume when building 'new' tvr's they will need an alternative power plant.

Its ok - I think its great news that Power have big plans and if they sometimes use alternative power plants then that should keep everyone happy.

New heads are already being made and I'm sure blocks can be if needed. I can't imagine ther'd be any issues ith internals.

My guess is: money

A brand new from scratch S6 from new parts is likely to cost a 'shade' more than a lazy, cheap, mass produced and omnipresent Yankie cruising lump wink

Just read the new issue of EVO - me thinks the term "TVR is BACK" is being stretched to its limit!!

Don't get me wrong, its great that TVR Power are doing what they are doing but its plainly clear that the Russian wants to sell but because he has devalued the marque so much, its going to take a few years to increase its profile sufficiently to be worth what he wants for it and therefore sell. If and when that happens, a new car will take a few years to develop - going to be a long wait for new TVR's to become available.

Why does he not back one of the racing sagaris's sufficiently to get them into the Le Mans Series?? OK, I'm sure its not that simple and will cost money but surely high profile racing is the way to increase the value of a marquee?

The Sagaris is a car that should still be in production (some how). End of.
