Can now get in my boot .. it was the fuse! Doesn't smell too clever though. Best leave the lid up for a while. Thanks for the responses regarding the clutch master cylinder seals. That's the next job.

Sounds like the solenoid could be packing up then if it's popping the fuse worth taking out for a look and a smell of burning.

Could be the electric mirrors as these are on the same circuit.

Blew a couple myself when operating the mirrors.

Changed the fuse for the next size and all well in the last year!
