Oh I've loved this thread Keith, read the first page again, then see 'where' your car is now...
The sheer joy of seeing a car saved, the contributions from its previous owner, the pictorial record of its restoration, the highs and lows and your ultimate success... this is PH at its absolute best... you'd never get this on Fakebook, and even if you could, you'd then never find it again! Which is why we must support these forum sites and keep them going...

Yes,i must be getting senile too as i have just twigged what Farah Fawsett Major had to do with this ..The sun screen picture across the front windscreen !The sheer joy of seeing a car saved, the contributions from its previous owner, the pictorial record of its restoration, the highs and lows and your ultimate success... this is PH at its absolute best... you'd never get this on Fakebook, and even if you could, you'd then never find it again! I have had a few flashbacks of my brief WFD ownership recently, like when the nearside trunnion broke as i was coming to a halt a a junction one evening. It felt like the engine had dropped out of the chassis.
The previous day i had been doing a fast corner at around 70 mph from Hutton to Billericay..Nice of WFD to break later and not before.
Hello Keith,
Please to mention that another of my past treasures has re-emerged ,not a TVR but the Sunbeam Mason Stiletto that i purchased from its first owner David Enderby at the same time as WFD although from a different source ..
Afraid i got carried away back in 1979 when i sold my first property and thought i was rich..
Unlike WFD i sold the Mason Stiletto some three times in bits over the 25 years after failing to attempt to get back into a motorsport dream again ..
It left me for the final time at around 2005 and after being in the same status with a further 2 owners has now emerged in unfinished project form and hopefully to be back on track in the future.
First image as it was at its best.
Second ..Ditto
Third ..In the body shell chassis state as i last sold it in around 2005.
Lastly , As it is today with bodywork removed ,but stored seperately

For those who have not seen the past post of TVR Vixen WFD 400H on my YouTube video then here is the caption to view on the YouTube channel(??).
TVR VIXEN S2 WFD 400H MASON STILETTO IRISH SETTER COPPA
Content is mostly of my then lovely Irish Setter ,but it shows what life was like in 1979/80`s ,shared accommodation next to Brentwood Station and the conditions of preparing a race car ,let alone leaving a TVR on the street overnight back then.
Something that i would`nt think of doing in 2021
Picture taken by me winter of 1979 - 80, overlooking Brentwood Railway station, somewhat the seedier side of Brentwood ,Essex.
To the back of the shared accommodation is the posher environment and whilst walking my dog to Hartswood Park amongst all the commuter car parking ,lo and behold one morning WFD was parked on route with a for sale notice ,price £1400..
I had only just bought the Mason Stiletto mentioned previously but was gob smacked with impression at the sight of the Vixen ,being the only time i had seen one in reality..
Took the details straight away and snapped it up after viewing in the desiable location of Gareth`s home in the Thorndon Park estate..
Yes,these posts certainly give you flashbacks in life.
It must have been 2006 or 2007 as i rember i was still with my ex girlfriend then ..Made a decision to sell WFD after all those years to help fund the ever increasing costs of my son`s MSA Kart racing activities in TKM 4 stroke..
Previous to that my late friend Ted Pool and wife retired from Alpine Rallye events and actually gave me the Imp i used to look after for them..
"Make use of it for what you need to he said"..So i sold that for funding as well...One can get carried away in enthusiastic ways in Motorsport..
So many regretful decisions regarding Motor Vehicles i have made..

Yes,i agree .It has been too long for me to not see WFD again and the memories in the short time i actually drove it.
My problem is that i live alone with two dogs who cannot be left for a long time..
Sounds easy but one of them gets in a frenzy with excitement in the van from a start of a journey to the end so i am not sure if my nerves will stand a long journey..
Just have to make the trip though !

Put the two dogs in the van this afternoon as i had been expecting a visitor..Needed to battery jump the Cortina during working on it,so got in and turned it around .
Harry just goes berserk with excitement at this ..Doing the turn around was extremely uncomfortable so travelling up North would be out of sanity..
Just have to find a way to overcome this as in a year or so i will have the Cortina ready for competition..
Again Harry is tricky to be left with someone as he has mental scars from when he was a puppy till some 2 years old..
Seeing a mass of historic TVR`s is so desirable for me to see let alone WFD.
Thanks Mr Twin Cam,
Remember i went to a Longleat Hillclimb once to see such a similar event..
That Imp in question is not my scene either Competition scene or as it was when it left the factory..
Another of my failures was my long standing HGH to which i abandoned using in favour of supporting my son in MSA kart racing.
I say failure as my eventual team mate ant i had a good time with it till a couple of outside concerns ruined our use.
I eventually bought it back a couple of time but financial matters made it a failure when i tried to supercharge it and go up to Modified Saloon class..
`
Anyhow i have asked before ..I would like to see on here anyone`s historic Vixen or Tuscan..
There is a great Vixen in Marigold on Youtube "Tomkins"(??),in HSCC productioin class racing..
How it was when i first obtained at a Sprint at Curborough
