Ford Focus Ecoboost Nightmare
Discussion
Has anyone else experienced the cylinder problem on a three-cylinder Ford EcoBoost? Unfortunately, it happened to my car last week and now it's sitting on my driveway. The local garage suggested that I should contact Ford, which I am in a back-and-forth with atm. I have read some stories of Ford paying for repairs after signing NDAs, but I'm not sure if maybe that policy has now ended.

That facebook page details some cars as new as 2019, with as little as 40 kmiles having engine failures.
Perhaps the car have been clocked, or had no maintenance. The theory seems to be they are very sensitive to having CLEAN oil of exactly the right type ie "Castrol Edge for Ecoboosts".
The wrong oil dissolving the belts is one thing, coolant loss is another.
It sounds like Ford UK are doing a Post Office !
they're definitely trying to keep the cover on these early "efficient" 3 cylinder ecoboost modelsPerhaps the car have been clocked, or had no maintenance. The theory seems to be they are very sensitive to having CLEAN oil of exactly the right type ie "Castrol Edge for Ecoboosts".
