Following on from the O/T stuff on one of the many Focus RS threads, it seems a few of us own an ST220... so feel free to enlighten the masses. smile

'05 Mondeo ST220, one owner from new, 45,500 miles. Spec includes a glorious sounding 3.0 V6 mated to a 6 speed 'box, full Recaro leather (5 stage heated front and rear!), touch screen controls for Sat Nav, CD changer / Radio / iPod and climate control. Cruise Control, xenon headlights, park distance control and no less than 4 cup holders (dang!)

Mine for under 9 bags of sand, and with Ford running costs to boot - so it shouldn't (touch wood!) break the piggy bank.

and yes I did straighten the gear knob after I took the photo!

Haven't got one, but it's right at the top of the list (by a considerable margin) when I need to replace the Escort in a few yearscloud9

I miss my old one lots. i just missed out on a 54plate perf blue xenons park sensors last week.

it is the £400 VED and fuel consumption that is playing on my mind. its not the cost but being sensible for once! i do 15-20K ayear mostly motorway so i know i can get low 30s going to and from work. I think it a case of having one economical car and not two fuel hungry cars!

i think i might go for another look on autotrader!

I was going to get an ST diesel as the second car, tbh i think i will get another 220. Why? The ST diesels seems very unreliable, diesel isn't that much cheaper anymore and i don't think the 220 will cost much more to run than the old 2.5V6 mk1(that's what i'm telling the wife anyway!). I think when the £400 VED kicks in what with fuel costs these cars will be VERY cheap next year. Podie, i've seen one of your posts saying more power should be easy from what your SVE m8's say-tell me more!!!

i had a drive of the ST TDCI when it first came out as a possible replace for the ST. it was a nice car but after adding recaros to the cost it actually became rather expensive. so i traded down. i've the diesel 'issues' in the focus instead smile

agree next year will be the year the buy such cars, can't wait that long though frown

Nice smile

I do like the red stitching and the red edged mats yes

I notice you've not got a boot release button next to the ESP switch.. scratchchin

We wanted the hatch for extra flexibility.

So far the 220 is returning about 2mpg MORE than the 200.

Has the £400 VED been confirmed...? I thought that there were still discussions. In all honesty, £190/yr more is not going to break my piggy bank - as much as I hate it going to the tax man irked

Heated seats m8-no need for audio-kids will listen to engine or what i want!!(& the colour csreen jobie sounds excellent IMO) I can't see them back tracking on the VED changes but you never know, like you say though the extra ££ isn't going to make enthusiasts sell their cars. Got you mail & repliedwink

Yep, aware of that issue... although mine isn't suffering from it at the moment.. might have a look and see if it's been done though.

Love the noise, the spec, the value-for-money, and the looks.
Hate the economy, the tyre bills and the understeery-ness

Thanks! It looks a lot brighter on that photo than it actually is. I'm impressed with how hard-wearing the seats are. It's really high quality stuff on those Recaros.
