Just wanted to try my luck and see if anyone could help me identify my problem.

My engines been misifiring in my 1.6 Focus and I've narrowed the problem down to one cycliner thats down. I've tried new spark plugs, then new spark leads but with no joy. Also, the spark produced is very weak compared with the others.

The engine warning light just come on too and I keep hearing a weird hollow sucking sound from the induction box running into the engine which I'm sure wasn't there before. Could this be because of them misfiring.

Also, will the ECU cut off the dodgy cyclinder after it has detected a fault so even one of the other fully functioning spark leads won't work with it.

Any ideas people and is it OK to drive my car. I haven't had it booked in till Tuesday.

Thanx

Agreed sounds like coil pack, can pick them up from Ford dealers for around £50, or a motor factors for around £30

Thanx peeps.

Turns out it was the coil pack

Had a used one put on which worked the first time, but two hours later it broke again, so now I've replaced it with a brand new one and its running smooth.
