ford fiesta clutch problem

Hi
My stepfather has a 1998 Fiesta very occasional when he depresses the the clutch pedal it stays down on the floor and doesn't return and he has to physicaly pull the lever back up
The car had a new cluch fitted a few months ago at a Ford dealer and has been back on a number of occasions and they can find nothing wrong
Would be grateful for any ideas

That sounds like clutch master cylinder.
