Puma kangaroos - help!
Discussion
No, not the work of some demented genetic scientist, but a faint juddering I've just noticed on my 1.7 Puma. It is happening on very light throttle inputs and/or when lifting off the throttle. I was noticing it at between 2000 and 3000rpm and in 4th and 5th gears. After a bit of a dig on Pumapeople i'm thinking it could be something to do with the HEGO/Lambda sensor. Can anyone offer any advice/suggestions?
Assuming it is the HEGO, is it worth cleaning the existing one or just buying a new one? Is it an easy DIY job?
Cheers

Dependent on the year of your car it will have either one HEGO or later cars have HEGO + UHEGO (Upstream - effectively either side of the catalyst) for tighter emission control. I think the change point was early 2000.
The HEGO is the sensor that bolts into the top of the exhaust manifold, at the back of the engine bay dead central. If you have access to air tools it is an easy DIY fix, but they can be difficult to get out.

Thanks. Thought so. Mine is an early 2000 car, so it could have either 1 or 2 sensors. I'll have a look.
Just to be sure, is this the downstream sensor? - http://www.pumapeople.com/index.php?automodule=gal...

I don't have access to air tools, so if it won't budge it looks like I'll be round the corner to Frauds. Is it worth trying cleaning the sensor, or should I just replace?
