Hi,

just booking my 55 plate Ka in for 2nd service (£140 - not too bad...sure there's cheaper tho).

Been told by the garage that Ford recommend you get the brake fluid changed every two years. Is this worthwhile, or is it an excuse to sting me for another £40?

Its worth doing, you can always ask them to do a boil test in front of you just to be sure.

I've said yes - but thanks for the reply Jon. My thinking was that the brakes are so crap on the Ka that anything that would make them worse needs to be avoided!

Ask them to adjust the rear shoes properly (Not the bolt under the handbrake lever) to reduce pedal travel and improve feel.

Bit random but just thinking of maintaining my Ka... Does anyone know when Haynes are going to bring out the updated Ka manual. The only one on sale is for the Endura engined Ka that stopped being made in 2002/3!
