Check the bottoms of the doors inside for rust at the bottom. I saw a few with this issue when i was looking.
Bushes as mentioned are a pain and prone to fail, rears before fronts and they make a racket over speedbumps etc.
Engine is never going to be a brilliant lump as its an old design but wil rev hard, take loads of abuse and will not fail.
Only problem i have had is trying to drive it normally! Too easy to thrash!

Have to admit to driving mine like an absolute tt sometimes.Driven sensibly they're very frugal - driven like you hired it they will go sideways round damp roundabouts...without having to do stupid speeds to step the back out.
