Just after a bit of advice really. I am thinking of buying a Ford Ka and would like to know if there are any common problems I should look out for. I have about £2500 to spend and I will be buying private. Hopefully I will get something around 2001 ish

any help would be appreciated

Great little cars for rolling about town.
Plastic bushes are prone to wearing, and engine noise can be an issue.

Heater can be a bit iffy (failing to blow cold air)

Check the bottoms of the doors inside for rust at the bottom. I saw a few with this issue when i was looking.

Bushes as mentioned are a pain and prone to fail, rears before fronts and they make a racket over speedbumps etc.

Engine is never going to be a brilliant lump as its an old design but wil rev hard, take loads of abuse and will not fail.

Only problem i have had is trying to drive it normally! Too easy to thrash!

Good luck.

Have to admit to driving mine like an absolute tt sometimes.

Driven sensibly they're very frugal - driven like you hired it they will go sideways round damp roundabouts...without having to do stupid speeds to step the back out.
