Hi chaps

In my 1998 Focus 1.6 the brake lights have decided to stay lit. Any thoughts what could cause this?

Is it mis alignment of a switch type thing, or is that not possible and so it will simply be new brake light switch? If so...how easy is this to do?

Thanks!

Thanks! Is that a fairly in/out type thing to do, or more of a mission than that?

Took 5 mins on my Mondeo-just clipped into place. Can't see Focus being any different.

Usually 1 connector with 2 wires to unplug and 1 or 2 nuts/bolts to remove it from it's bracket. Hardest part is getting yourself un-wedged from between the door and the seat..smile

Excellent...turns out the connector had come out of it's captive place and because it's a negative switch (i.e. the pedal moves away from the switch) then it stayed permantnly on. So clipped it back into place and it worked.

Thanks chaps - meant I knew what I was looking for!
