Could someone please confirm whether the Td di has a dual mass flywheel like those fitted to TD Ci. I would like to find out if/ when the clutch needs replacing its gonna be expensive, or REAL expensive !!! Thanks

Fraid so but they are available aftermarket now for a lot less than the dealer. You will know when it needs doing cos your starter motor will pack up and on removel it will be full of metal fileings.

Are you looking to fit it yourself?

If so, i've always found APSW have pretty good prices on clutch kits – www.apsw.co.uk

I am pretty sure the DMFW was only available from mid 2003.
All prior standard Mondeo diesels were not DMFW.
DMFW have a great tendancy to snap integral springs, particulary when engine is used in the lower reb band, incedently where diesel engines belong
