Puma Cam Belt Change................How Much?
Discussion
Around £250-£300.
For the 1.7, a special locking tool is needed so make sure the garage has this, otherwise the timing can be knocked out easily and so the car will run very badly. Also ensure they use the proper Ford cambelt kit (includes tensioner etc), and also replace the aux belt (Ford part ~£20) and the head gasket seal (part about £10 IIRC), both of which have to be removed anyway and can cause problems later on if not replaced.
Ford will be more than an indy obviously, however I've heard of Ford quotes of being up to £400 so phone around. Lots of good advice here: www.pumapeople.com
